Elton John's concert in Vilnius has caused a boom not only in Lithuania

After the only concert of Sir Elton John in the Baltic States to be held on 4 November in Vilnius Siemens Arena was announced, organizers of the concert in Lithuania not only were contacted by a great number of buyers, but also received many calls from the neighboring countries. The organizers announce that according to estimates about 25-30 percent of 9500 tickets planned to be sold will be bought by tourists from the neighboring countries.

“As soon as the news about Elton John coming to Lithuania this fall spread, we received a great number of calls from his fans from Estonia, Latvia, Belarus, Kaliningrad, and Poland. People are actively interested both in individual and group purchase of tickets. Based on great interest of listeners from these countries we predict that about third of the tickets planned to be sold might be bought by our neighbors,” stated Juras Vėželis, Managing Director of SEVEN Live organizing the concert.

Experience shows that previously approx. 20 percents of all the tickets distributed for concerts of such performers as Metallica, Kylie Minogue or Depeche mode held in Vilnius Siemens Arena were bought by tourists from the neighboring countries, generally from Belarus and the Kaliningrad Region.

“These performers had also organized concerts in Tallinn and Riga, therefore, here we had rather small percent of Latvians and Estonians, however, Elton John's concert not only will be the only concert in the Baltic States, but also one of the few in the entire Europe. After the concert in Vilnius Siemens Arena, the performer and his band will go only to Kiev, Ljubljana and Moscow,” listed J. Vėželis.

It is planned to sell total of 9500 tickets for Elton John's concert. All tickets are for seats.

Preliminary sale of the ticket with the price starting at LTL 159 for Elton John's concert for members of Tiketa club started on 7 July. Open ticket sale has started today, on 11 July. During the period of the preliminary sale and the first two days of the open sale alone 3300 tickets were sold. Tickets are distributed by Tiketa.

For the audience gathering in Vilnius Siemens Arena, charismatic Sir Elton John will perform his best and famous creations accumulated in the course of his improbable career of almost fifty years. The musician has over 50 hit songs, thus, during the concert only the best and most famous melodies will be performed.

There are no doubts that this would be one of the greatest and at the same time culturally most valuable concert of the year. In 2010, Elton John was the third in the world according to concert ticket sale. He was beat only by U2 and Bon Jovi.
