Sir Elton John is coming to Lithuania

The concert of the performer held for the first time in 2006 for the Lithuanian audience in Vingis Park was sold out - over 30 thousand people gathered. Meanwhile, it is planned to sell only 9500 tickets for Elton John's concert in Siemens Arena. All tickets are for seats.

The fact that prior to his tour in Moscow and Kiev, Elton John included Vilnius Siemens Arena in his schedule is a huge success and evaluation for us and at the same time a result of long-term cooperation with Live Nation, the world’s leading company organizing concerts, namely the group of companies SEVEN received an offer to organize the performer’s concert from representatives of this company,” said Vidmantas Šiugždinis, Managing Director of SEVEN Entertainment.

For the Lithuanian audience, charismatic Sir Elton John will perform his best and famous creations accumulated in the course of his improbable career of almost fifty years. The musician has over 50 hit songs, thus, during the concert only the best and most famous melodies will be performed.

According to V. Šiugždinis, there are no doubts that this would be one of the greatest and at the same time culturally most valuable concert of the year surpassing others both in terms of the amount of money which is paid to the musician for his performance and in terms of the number of people wishing to see him. In 2010, Elton John was the third in the world according to concert ticket sale. He was beat only by U2 and Bon Jovi.

“It is great that with an increase in number of arenas in Lithuania the amount of events also increases as people are getting used to a more diverse pastime, while the cultural view of the society expands. Preliminary ticket sale for Elton John's concert for members of Tiketa club will start on 7 July at 10 am. Open ticket sale will start on 11 July at 10 am. Tickets with the price starting at LTL 159 are distributed by Tiketa.

The British performer, composer and pianist had begun its active music career in 1964, since then sold over 250 million records and became one of the most successful performers in the history. Sales of his single “Candle in the wind” alone has already reached 33 million copies all over the world heading the list of the best selling singles.

Elton John also has quite a number of the world’s most prestigious awards. 6 times the musician triumphed at Grammy music awards, received an Oscar, and won the Gold Globe and Tony award.

The performer has also cooperated with a lot of world stars, including John Lennon, George Michael, Eminem, Stevie Wonder, Eric Clapton and even the extravagant Lady Gaga playing piano in a duet with her at the 52nd ceremony Grammy Awards.

An improbable talent of Elton John started revealing itself at the early age. The young genius had began playing piano as early as at the age of three and already then he could play music pieces he heard by ear. Moreover, being 11 years old he won a grant and became a student of Royal Academy of Music in London where his teachers were amazed by him playing a difficult four-page Handel's music piece he heard for the first time.
