The British reggae virtuosos UB40 are coming to Lithuania for the first time

In the beginning of next year Great Britain's reggae stars UB40 are visiting Lithuania for the first time.  The band will perform two concerts for the Lithuanian audience – on 18th February in Vilnius Siemens Arena and on 19th February in Panevėžys Cido Arena. The band will reward the viewers with well-known and all time hits.

„The negotiation with UB40 agents about the band's visit to Lithuania can be called unique. Even though the band are actively touring and their concert schedule is very tight, we managed to arrange everything in a record time – over merely several weeks, because the band's desire to come on stage in Lithuania was immense“, – says Juras Vėželis, the president of SEVEN Live.

UB40 are the patriarchs of reggae music, ambassadors of the oldschool reggae, performing the so-called music of love and peace, which perfectly suits both, the ones who want to relax and drown in the sounds of music, and the ones in the mood for some fun partying.

The tickets to UB40 concert will come on sale on 8th December at 10 o'clock. Members of Tiketa club will be able to purchase tickets for a special price on 8th December, discounts will also be available for OMNI ID cardholders. Tickets are distributed by Tiketa.

UB40 was created in 1978 in Birmingham. The interesting part is that during the years of its existence none of the original 8 members was changed until 2008. Currently the cast of the band is slightly different.

The men collective received considerable success not only in their native Great Britain, but also beyond it. UB40 is considered to be one of the best-selling bands in the world. To the day they have already sold over 70 million records.

During the time of its existence, the band has released 50 singles which were reigning in the tops. Lithuanians know the tunes such as Red Red Wine, Can't Help Falling In Love, I Got You Babe and many more very well.

„This band and their tunes are also really appreciated among the employees of our company. They were among the ones suggesting the idea to invite UB40 to Lithuania“, – reveals J. Vėželis.

In 2006 UB40's album Who You Fighting For was nominated for a Grammy award. Over more than three decades of career in music, the band spread reggae not only in their native Great Britain, the reggae homeland Jamaica, but also Russia, South Africa, America, New Zealand and most European countries.

The UB40 performances in Lithuania are organized by company SEVEN Live, belonging to the biggest in the country entertainment business company group SEVEN Entertainment, uniting leading Lithuanian companies in various entertainment fields which deal with arena management, event organization and ticket distribution.
