THE ELITE SHOW CIRQUE DU SOLEIL COMES TO LITHUANIA

On 15-17 December, the best (and the highest-priced) worldwidely show Cirque du Soleil will present performance Saltimbanco - the most popular one of the repertoire that is presented for the longest period and is turned into its visiting-card. For three evenings, the mostly professional cirque artists of the planet will arrange three presentations on Vilnius “Siemens“ Arena and only 10 thousand spectators will be able to observe them.

“Because it will be the first visit of artists of legend Cirque du Soleil in our country, Lithuanians will be provided a unique opportunity to see the performance having fascinated the whole world that forces each spectator to lose a contact with the reality and to submerge in the extraterrestrial world. We are very glad that after three-year negotiations we successfully invited the troupe to our country and thus contributed to the indelible impressions to be presented to our spectators by the artists. Scott Heatherington, the Ambassador of Canada for the Baltic States, joys of the visit of Cirque du Soleil in the Baltic States as well: “I am glad to know that most famous Cirque du Soleil having visited 300 towns of six continents comes to the Baltic States for the first time. I watched Saltimbanco in Ottawa and was fascinated. Beyond any doubt, the spectators in the Baltic States will be entranced by the exclusive artistry, music and acrobatics - the show will be an excellent Christmas gift to the population of Lithuania “.

Saltimbanco is the most complicated show of Cirque du Soleil in the technical aspect inspired by the life and the colourful population of a town; now it is considered classics. The premiere of the show took place as early as in the year 1992. Then it was presented in many countries and in the year 2007, it was restaged and then shown during the new tour on arenas of North America and Europe. In December, artists of the show will visit the Baltic States for the first time.

International Saltimbanco show with its incredible acrobatic and athletic tricks is created by 51 artists and musicians from over 20 various states. The goal of the show is to enthrall and to fascinate. The show really distinguishes for many fascinating views – from incredible balancing, jumping and rotating on Chinese columns or Russian swing to rope-walkers and trapeze artists that seem to be ignoring the laws of gravitation, from admiring jugglery and acrobatic bicycling to unique clowns. Technical knowledge and experience of the artists is perfectly combined with the impressive costumes, effective lighting, excellent mood and fascinating music as well as the magic lingering in the air.

Rene Dupere, the composer of Saltimbanco, was inspired by the urban life, so the show distinguishes itself for extraterrestriality, rhythm and cosmopolitism. On each presentation, the total music part ir presented lively. On the scene, it is performed by 5 musicians and 2 singers. Live music provides supplemental energy and colorfulness to the performance and enables the group to adapt itself to the presentation of the artists on the scene. The musicians trace each motion of an artist and ensure synchronicity of the motion and music. In addition, the songs are performed in the language created namely for this show that is a mix of various languages of the world.

The preliminary selling of tickets for wonderful show Saltimbanco by Cirque du Soleil to members of “Tiketa“ Club and bearers of Omni ID cards will be arranged on 3-6 June. The public selling of tickets starts on 7 June. Tickets are distributed by “Tiketa“.
